Tiny is celebrating Pollinator Week by giving away free seed packets throughout the week and encouraging residents to attend a special event Saturday to mark the occasion.
The special week, which is an annual sustainability initiative to recognize the importance of pollinators and encourage action to protect them and their habitats, culminates with the Pollinator Fair.
Slated to run from 10 a.m. to noon at the township’s community garden located in the southeast corner of Perkinsfield Park, the event will feature local vendors, organizations such as the Severn Sound Environmental Association (SSEA), the Wye Marsh and the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation as well as pollinator-friendly activities for all ages.
“As a designated Bee City, the township is proud to promote healthy, sustainable habitats and communities for pollinators, and is committed to environmental stewardship initiatives like Pollinator Week,” Mayor David Evans said in a release.
“Plan to join us to make a difference.”
