According to a news release from the OPP, members of the street crime unit have been investigating a drug trafficking case in Wasaga Beach since January, and gathering evidence against one suspect.

Police made an arrest on April 25 after searching two homes in the Beach with the help of Collingwood, Southern Georgian Bay and Nottawasaga street crimes units and the Tactics and Rescue Unit, which is the OPP's unit assigned to high-risk situations.

Police seized cocaine, fentanyl, a weapon, and found other evidence of drug trafficking.

Daniel Clarke, 26, of Brampton was arrested and charged with trafficking and possession for the purposes of trafficking both cocaine and opioid drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood at a later date.
