International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Dick Pound announced Monday that the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo will be postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
The Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee issued joint statements on Sunday saying that they refuse to send their teams to Tokyo unless their respective Games are pushed back a year.
According to media reports, Pound has said that the parameters for the 2020 Summer Games have not been determined, but the Games will not start on July 24 as they were originally scheduled.
