Welcome to Phoenix Jewelry Midland, where exquisite craftsmanship meets a remarkable journey of resilience and dedication. For 37+ years, Phoenix Jewelry Co has been a beacon of quality and integrity in the heart of Huronia Mall. Specializing in custom designs, diamonds, colored stones, mounts, wax carving, and mold making, our family-owned business has become synonymous with exceptional jewelry and personalized service.
Founded by the proud owners, Korrena and Tan La, our story is one of triumph over adversity. Tan's remarkable journey began during the Vietnam War, where he faced unimaginable challenges. Captured and placed in a P.O.W camp for three harrowing years, Tan's indomitable spirit and sheer determination led to a daring escape, accompanied by four brave comrades. Tragically, two were recaptured and lost their lives that fateful day. Tan's journey to survival took him to a refugee camp in Malaysia, where he found solace with his daughter and sister by his side.
From this refuge, Tan was sponsored by two generous couples from a church in Midland, Mr. and Mrs. Dodell and Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. Tan wasted no time in starting full-time work upon his arrival, simultaneously enroling in English classes. His thirst for knowledge eventually led him to Toronto, where he pursued Jewelry Design at George Brown College. With a background in Engineering Design from Vietnam, Tan's transition into the world of jewelry design was seamless. Toronto became his new home, and he opened a jewelry store on Spadina Avenue. In 1986, Tan returned to Midland, planting the seeds of what would become Phoenix Jewelry Company within the Huronia Mall.
Thirty-seven plus years later, Phoenix Jewelry Co still thrives in the same location, serving the residents of Midland and its surrounding areas. Tan's custom designs and on-site repairs are a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence.
The driving forces behind our enduring success have always been perseverance, dedication, and hard work, values deeply cherished by Korrena and Tan. Yet, no success story is complete without the loyalty of valued customers. To our cherished family, friends, staff, and customers, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support over these 37 + remarkable years. You are the reason we stand strong today, and we pledge to continue offering you a personalized experience and showcasing beautifully designed pieces.
At Phoenix Jewelry Midland, we are immensely grateful that you, our esteemed customers, have embraced our vision. Thank you for making us your preferred destination for all things jewelry. As we embark on many years ahead, we look forward to crafting more beautiful memories with you and continuing to be a part of your precious moments.
