Help us support the Georgian Bay Food Network this holiday season!

*Please note: the Holiday Food Drive is now sold out. If you would like to support the Georgian Bay Food Network, donations can be made directly on their website. We appreciate your support.

MidlandToday is stepping up to keep the Georgian Bay Food Network’s shelves stocked with our MidlandToday Cares: Food Drive. But we need your help!

For every gift card purchased in our online pop-up store, MidlandToday and our local partners will match your gift with a cash donation. That means your gift will be matched seven times! Donate below!

All donations will support the Georgian Bay Food Network, and you can purchase a gift card until Dec. 14 at 12 p.m.

Please READ THE TERMS & CONDITIONS. Your credit card will be charged at the time of purchase. We recommend you use a credit card, not a debit card.

This wouldn’t be possible without the generous local businesses and organizations that work hard to make Midland a better place.

Thanks to Maurice's Your Independent Grocer 3718 for donating the gift cards for this initiative, and to the following businesses who have joined us in matching each donation: Simply Home Furnishings, Brooklea Golf & Country Club, Minds Alive, Huronia Alarms, Triple Tech Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and Adco Tire & Auto Inc.

About Georgian Bay Food Network

ALL ABOUT GBFN:

What We Do: It is our goal to assist community members struggling with food insecurity and assist them on the path to self-sufficiency. The importance of food is obvious and essential. At GBFN, we have made it our mission to assist community members in need by providing food and other services. We provide advocacy by identifying general concerns and gaps in services and help by bringing these issues to the attention of the local community. We are committed to listening to the voices of those accessing our services. Our Community Resource Navigator will work confidentially with individuals experiencing unique or specific needs. This support is intended to help identify the needs and goals of individuals, to help sustain self-sufficiency in the future. We believe it is important to work collaboratively with individuals in need to act as both an advocate and a resource to them.

Who we help:

We serve community members of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny, Tay, as well as Christian Island.

ABOUT OUR PEOPLE - TOGETHER EVERYONE ACCOMPLISHES MORE

Whether you are giving compassion as a volunteer or receiving services from our team, thank you for being a part of our community. It is the mission of Georgian Bay Food Network to help the community with food insecurity, as well as assist individuals/families in need on the path to self-sufficiency. We want our space in the community to be a comfortable environment.

Georgian Bay Food Network's mission is to serve the community as well as heal any negative thought forms and feelings associated with food banks.

Our Team:

Alex created Georgian Bay Food Network as a place of service and assistance for the local community. As the Executive Director, Alex is responsible for the overall management and direction of Georgian Bay Food Network. Alex believes by creating a welcoming environment, that GBFN can help community members with both food assistance and overcoming the stigma related to food insecurity. Her goal is to bring the community together through volunteer opportunities and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.

Mary retired from the County of Simcoe in 2020 after a 32-year career in Social Services. She worked with the Ministry of Community and Social Services Income Maintenance Branch for 3 years and with the County of Simcoe Social Services Division for 29 years.  Mary started her career as a case manager and then moved into the position of Ontario Works Supervisor.
