Whether looking for superheroes flying from the sky or elbows flying from the top rope, there’s bound to be something for everyone this Sunday at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre.
Midland ComiCon will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the NSSRC, where vendors will be selling comics, toys, cards, games and more. Artists and authors will be available, and cosplay is encouraged.
Tickets are available online and at the door, with general admission of $5 for adults, while children 12 and under are free. VIP admission of $20 can be purchased online, which includes a premier shopping bag, mystery Pop! figure from Funko, and two high-grade collectors comics.
GCW Live Wrestling will open its doors at 5:30 with a bell ring at 6 p.m., featuring wrestling superstars from all over Ontario. Authentic GCW merchandise will be available from shirts and hats to authentic Lucha wrestling masks.
For kids 12 years of age and under, tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. General adult admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door, and front row reserved seats are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
VIP tickets are also available online, with VIP general admission at $35 and VIP front row at $45. Purchases include an additional GCW gift bag with two pins, archival DVD, a GCW foam finger, thundersticks, a pack of NXT cards and a WWE sticker pack.
For both events, a non-perishable food item donation for a local community food bank will enter donors into a raffle. Unexpired items in demand are: kids’ school snacks; juice; canned vegetables and fruit; canned pasta; cereal; toiletries; pet food; and diapers and baby supplies.
The events, hosted by Pop Culture Canada, will take place at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre, located at 527 Len Self Boulevard in Midland. Further information is available on the event website.
