Midland brings COVID-19 protocols in line with province

Town removing all indoor capacity limits, vaccination passports

As Ontario moves into the next phase of reopening, the Town of Midland is removing all indoor capacity limits and the requirement to show proof of vaccination for all settings.

Other protective measures, such as mask/face covering requirements and active/passive screening of patrons, will remain in place. The town plans to continue to monitor whether our public health units deploy local and regional responses based on local health indicators.

North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre (NSSRC)

• Proof of vaccination is no longer required to enter the NSSRC: 

• 100% capacity for spectator areas; 

• No capacity limits for non-spectator areas of the facility, including the gymnasium; 

• No capacity limits for indoor meetings and events; and 

• Masks are still required when visiting the NSSRC, until further notice. 

In addition, the NSSRC continues to be open for the following: 

• Open for Competitive Edge Sports shop daily  

(11 a.m.- 8 p.m. on Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday); 

• Open for walk-in Transit purchases Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m; and 

• Open for SMDHU  COVID vaccination clinics on select dates, please see SMDHU website for dates. 

Midland Public Library (MPL) 

• The MPL remains open for walk-in customers; 

• There are no longer capacity limits in place; 

• Patrons over 2 years of age must wear masks when visiting. If you refuse or cannot wear a mask, you will  be offered curbside service instead; 

• The MPL is now taking reservations for single use study rooms; 

• The MPL will be taking bookings for meeting rooms; and

Midland Municipal Office

The Midland Municipal office continues to remain open, and services have not changed with this move to the  next phase, with some walk-in services available and some services that require an appointment. For a full list, click here.
