Penetanguishene sent out a notice Friday morning to tell residents the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum is "currently closed until further notice."

"We will continue to keep residents informed and updated with its reopening," the town noted. "We appreciate your patience and understanding."

Town spokeswoman Brittany Bunn says the closure is linked to this week's major snowstorms that have hit the region.

"We require more time to complete snow removal at this moment," she said, adding the museum will be ready for the Winterama it's hosting.

"Nothing for Winterama is affected at the moment. It will be a great event!"

The town notified residents Friday afternoon that the museum has since reopened.
