Members of the public are invited to share their opinion around the proposed draft plan and zoning bylaw amendment for Harbour Point subdivision phase four.
In its notice of public meeting, town staff explains the subject site has an area of approximately 2.1 hectares with 20 metres of frontage onto Beausoleil Drive. It is located immediately south of École Secondaire Le Caron, west of the county forest (known as the Thompson Tract) and north of the Penetang Sand and Gravel operations.
Under the zoning bylaw amendment application and subdivision draft plan, staff notes Bellisle (Penetang) Developments Inc. wants to build 33 single-detached houses, a block for a trail/future connection into the Thompson Tract, a block for a 0.3 metre reserve and a new public road. The subject lands are designated as a neighbourhood area under the town’s official plan. The property is zoned rural and also falls within an environmental protection zone.

The town has also issued a notice that the municipality is permitting an outdoor patio on the west side of Main Street, adjacent to 96 Main St., where Flynn’s Irish Pub is located. This is being done in accordance with the town’s extended use of sidewalks and boulevards bylaw.
As a result, the first three parking spaces adjacent to the patio have been closed until October 12, 2020, bollards and planters are being used to indicate this closure.
