The local OSPCA is holding one of its most important fundraisers this weekend.
The Victorian Christmas is an artisan and craft sale organized by a group of volunteers with all proceeds donated to the Midland & District Animal Centre.
The event takes place this coming Saturday at the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre in Midland and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tickets are $5 if purchased ahead of time and $6 at the door. The Victorian Christmas features 24 artists with gift ideas ranging from jewelry, candles and wooden crafts to tin art, soaps and clothing.
“You can also win door prizes and there is a raffle of items donated by the artists,” explains Midland and District Animal Centre community outreach coordinator Carolyn Gibson-Webster.
She says a new feature this year is the chance to win $200 for a donation of unopened pet food.
“The Victorian Christmas has been running for over 20 years and has been very successful with last year’s event selling 1,200 tickets,” Gibson-Webster said. “ The committee is grateful to the businesses who sponsor the event and the community volunteers who work hard to make it happen.”
Advanced tickets are available at Simply Country, Indulge, The Mouse Trap and the animal shelter.
