For the constituents of Tay Township, Mayor Ted Walker shared seasonal greetings and yule tidings during this holiday season.
Asked by MidlandToday to provide words of cheer through the gift-giving festivities, Walker thanked his residents for their “truly inspiring” engagement.
“We’ve seen it on full display during many events, functions and celebrations throughout the year – what wonderful ways to come together as a community,” wrote Walker through email.
Walker noted that the council and township staff had stuck to being fiscally responsible so as to keep tax increases limited, while striving to improve service levels and enact capital projects during 2024.
“2025 promises to be another great year for the township and residents as our infrastructure and service level improvements will continue,” said Walker.
Anticipated for an official opening of February, Walker stated that the Cherry Blossom Village facility at 3100 Triple Bay Road would be “a live-in therapeutic treatment program for children and adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities” on its 49-acre site, and expressed gratitude that the Blossom Group chose Tay for the location.
“A top priority remains securing provincial funding to assist in the cost of increasing the capacity of our Victoria Harbour Wastewater Treatment Plant,” wrote Walker. “Expanding this critical infrastructure is essential to support future development and new connections for individual builds.” He added that continuing advocacy would be necessary to support the project.
“We look forward to 2025, and all that will continue to make Tay Township such a great place to live,” Walker concluded.
