Penetanguishene has heard the stinky concerns of residents.
In a release sent out Friday afternoon, the town noted that it would like to inform and assure residents and businesses that public works staff are actively investigating and responding to the odour concerns that have been identified recently at the Philip H. Jones Pollution Control Plant.
"We have identified the source of the odour," public works director Bryan Murray said in the release.
"Monitoring by Midland-Penetanguishene fire services confirms there is no danger or health impact to the public."
Murray said that since the town requires support of an external vendor, it can't yet provide a timeline for resolution.
Added Murray: "We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause."
