Winter weather travel advisory in effect for this morning and this evening.
What: Reduced visibility at times in bursts of heavy snow and blowing snow. Local snowfall accumulations up to 5 cm today. Additional local snowfall accumulations up to 5 cm this evening.
When: This morning and again this evening.
Additional information: Lake effect snow off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay is expected this morning. After a lull this afternoon additional lake effect snow is expected this evening before coming to an end tonight. Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
