William Leo Brennen passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 17, 2023.
A devoted husband, father, Grandfather and Great grandfather. He is survived by wife Barbara, daughter Alison, {Casandra, Sammy, Oscar} son John, (Mary Anne, Adam, Kyle, Hope), son Chris, (Mary, Eleni, (Johnny){Zoe}, Katrina, (Darrin), {Arley, Aubrey} and daughter Adrianne (David, Hannah, (Tyler), Chris (Eri), {Emma}, Andrew, (Meagan).
Born May 28,1930, number 5 of 13 to Thomas and Alice Brennen of Niagara Falls, New York. An avid sailor, Commander of the United States Navy, 25 years serving in both Korean and Vietnam Wars. A devoted member of St Margaret's Church and long-standing choir member, member of the Kiwanis Club, Heritage Boat Club, Knights of Columbus and MG&CC. Bill was best known as the 'Commodore'; he was both mentor and friend to many and was his happiest piloting the graceful Julie F through the waves of Georgian Bay. RIP Bill, Argh!
Family will receive friends at Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave, Midland, Ontario, on Thursday November 23, 2023 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday November 24, 2023 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church at 2:30pm. Burial to follow at St. Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations to the charity of you choice would be appreciated by the family if desired.
