Sadly, and with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Philip “Phil” Coombs on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at Southlake Regional Hospital after a short illness due to complications from heart surgery.
Beloved husband of 63 years to Dorothy. Loving father to Philip (Brenda) and Lynn (Joe). Cherished grandfather to David (Jessica), Robert (Ibeth), Andrew (Sadie), Doug (Lisa), Simon and Bronwen. Dear great grandfather to Wesley, Zanna and Adam. Phil will be missed by all of his extended family and friends.
Philip was born in the small town of Upper Island Cove, Conception Bay, NFLD. He immigrated to Toronto, Ontario with his parents and sisters at the age of 7 years, where he lived and worked while raising his family until retiring and settling in Penetanguishene in 2006. While he enjoyed the outdoors fishing, hunting, dirt biking, and riding his motorcycle, he also enjoyed reading books among which were the stories/poems of the high north by Robert W. Service. He especially enjoyed spending time socializing with his family and friends and looked forward to them dropping by our home to visit.
We, his Family, would like to invite our friends to a Celebration of Life for a time to remember Phil on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at the Penetanguishene Funeral Home from times 1 p.m. till 4 p.m.
