Member of Bayport Lodge #249, A.F. & A.M.). Initiated into Caledonian Lodge No 249 on April 7, 1975. He was installed as Worshipful Master of Caledonian Lodge on June 1, 1992, and served with distinction.
It is with profound sadness that the family of James Downer announce his peaceful passing on June 27th, 2024, in his 75th year at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital after a long hard fought battle to heart disease. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dawn of 38 years. Loving father of Heather & Jeremy (Lisa), Wonderful & loving grandfather to Tyler (Emilie) & Hailey. Great Grandchildren: Briar & Levi. James was Predeceased by his parents Charles Oswald & Jessie Alfreda Downer, siblings Gary (Gail) Downer, Linda (Everett) Marshall, Bonnie (Bev) Adams, Sharon Gravelle, Luanne (larry) Dion, Marilyn Wakelin, Ronda Brammal &. Jim is survived by his siblings Shane & Shanna (Tom) Bourgeois. Jim will especially be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins & many friends.
There will be a Masonic service starting at 1:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life. held Saturday July 13, 2024 at North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre, 527 Len Self Blvd, Midland, Ontario.
