Marg Hartley, 84, of Penetanguishene, passed away September 22, 2024, at the Georgian Manor with Theresa, Kevin and Dana by her side.

She married the late Vern Hartley in 1957, and they lived together in Penetanguishene. Marg is survived by her four children: Michael (Heather) Hartley, Pauline Hartley, Theresa Hartley (Garry Cole) and Kevin (Dana) Hartley. Marg was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Memere. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, was highly skilled with knitting needles, and enjoyed her weekly outings with friends and family in addition to being a walker of all terrains.

Marg carried the spirit of Irene’s bakeshop to her work at Omer’s Meat Pie and in the retail sector. She made friends everywhere she went and with her colleagues.

Marg, or Maggie as she was affectionately known by, unconditionally, unselfishly loved her children and supported them all her life through the many highs and difficulties of their lives. She also made it her mission to care for those in need, through her volunteer work at Georgian Bay General Hospital and Hospice.
