On July 1, 2024, Susan Inrig (nee Crawford) gracefully, and surrounded by family and loved ones, passed away in her 79th year. Leaving behind her true love, and husband of 59 years, Malcolm, her children Jeff (Janine) and Melissa (Bob), and her beloved grandchildren Haylee, Keon, Taylor and Ryan. Cherished brother Bob (Bev) and nieces Sarah and Ashley.

Susan was known for her radiant, ever present smile, positive attitude and her ability to make everyone who interacted with her feel important, welcomed and loved. She left every person she touched feeling better for the experience. She was always the catalyst of inclusion; checking in on others, the first to send a card, bake a cookie or invite you over for a talk (and a glass of Chardonnay!).

Susan’s persistent contributions to our community, both in and outside of the charity sector, were extensive and hugely meaningful. Some of the many ways she contributed were through her tireless efforts with the Thunder Beach Association and her impactful work with Big Brothers Big Sisters North Simcoe.

Whether it was in Downtown Oakville or Downtown Midland and Penetang, we were always amazed when we walked into a store with Susan; she knew everyone’s names and they knew hers. Her natural ability and instinct to assist and mentor was valued and sought out by so many.

Susan leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, courage and joy that will live on in her beloved children and grandchildren who will always be so grateful for the rich time spent in her company and the lessons we have learned from a life filled with smiles, laughter and love.

Our entire family is ever grateful to the amazing staff and volunteers at Tomkins House for the level of caring and kindness they showered on Susan when she most needed it.

Susie/Mom/Mimi we miss being with you!
To us- you are PERFECT!

A Celebration of Life gathering will be scheduled in the not too distant future. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters North Simcoe and/or Tomkins House at Hospice Huronia
