WWII RCCS, 3rd Division, Sgt with OPP, Staff Sgt Midland Police Service
Passed away at Royal Victoria Hospital on Wednesday December 2, 2020 in his 95th year. Loving husband of the late Coral (nee Christensen). Donald will be deeply missed by his sister Marion, his nieces, nephews, and by his step children Mark, Susan, Patricia. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Esther, his brothers Horace, Lloyd, and sister Helen.
Donald was a Sergeant with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from 1950 – 1965, a Staff Sergeant with the Midland Police Service from 1965 – 1986, was a life member of Bayport Lodge #249, life member of Kichikewana Chapter #167, and life member of Mount Calvary Preceptory #12, when Don retired, he worked as a funeral director assistant with Carson Funeral Homes Midland he took pride in helping each family that he served with their grief journey. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held in the spring. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551. Memorial donations to Shrine Hospital for Children or Calvary Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family if desired.
