Rita Laurin of Penetanguishene, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the age of 99.
She was an active member of St. Ann’s Parish, a Daughters of Isabella and a long-time volunteer at the Georgian Manor. She was predeceased by her parents, Alice (Desroches) and Fred Laurin as well as her siblings, Cleo Laurin (Margaret Watson), Ophelia “Phil” (Frank) Condren, Maurice Laurin (Theresa Patenaude), Leonard Laurin (survived by Alice Laurin- Doolittle nee Bennett), and Basil Laurin (Jacqueline Desjardins).
She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews and fondly remembered for the supportive role she had in their lives.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Penetanguishene Funeral Home, 155 Main Street, on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 2pm till 4pm. A funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 28 Robert St., Penetanguishene will take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 starting at 10am.
Cremation to follow the mass and a family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice Huronia – Tomkins House, Penetanguishene or the charity of your choice.
