It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Dwight Stoneman, known to family and friends as "Dwight" or "Stoney," at the age of 76. Dwight passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2024, at Sakura House in Woodstock, Ontario, with his beloved wife and children by his side.

Born on December 29, 1947, in Toronto, Ontario, Dwight was the cherished son of Lloyd and Velma Stoneman. He later settled in Midland, Ontario, where he and his wife of 50 years, Sharron Marie Stoneman, raised their family.

A proud and dedicated retired member of the Metro Toronto Police Department, Dwight spent his life in service to others, protecting his community with unwavering dedication and integrity. His legacy is one of loyalty, strength, and love.

Dwight was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Sharron, and his children: Stephen (Lerna), Andrew (Ana), and Allison (Rob De Luca). He was the much-loved grandfather of Noah, Alexander, Sophie, Amélie, Grayson, Jackson, and Cecelia.

Family was at the centre of Dwight’s heart, and his greatest joy was spending time with those he loved. His presence, wisdom, and sense of humour will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Dwight’s life will be held on October 6, 2024 from 12:00-3:00 at the Best Western Plus, 7 Buena Visa Dr., Orangeville .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sakura House or a charity of your choice in Dwight’s memory.
