A knife-wielding Orillia man is facing multiple charges after a bizarre early-morning incident in Elliot Lake.

At about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, an Elliot Lake resident called 911 after an unknown man entered the family home with a knife; he appeared to be high on drugs and was acting "very erratic," the caller stated, according to a news release from East Algoma OPP.

"Upon police arrival, the man ran out of the residence yelling that there was a bear chasing him," noted the release.

"Because of the man's delusional state and threat to public safety involving a knife in his possession, police safely and effectively arrested him and he was taken to the hospital for assessment," the media release stated

Lincoln Pryzbilla-Hunter, 27, from Orillia was charged with two counts of break, enter a place (with intent to commit an indictable offence) and resisting a peace officer.

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court later today.
