No injuries were reported following a house fire on Johnson Street in Midland Wednesday afternoon.

Midland deputy fire chief Ritch Lowell said the cause of the blaze at 540 Johnson Street is still being determined.

“The fire started at the rear exterior of the house and travelled up the outside to the upper exterior and attic,” Lowell told MidlandToday. “The rest of the home suffered smoke and water damage. The damage estimate is still being completed.”

Lowell said 22 firefighters were on the scene for approximately three hours to ensure the fire at the 1/1-storey, grey home was fully extinguished.

Lowell thanked firefighters from Penetanguishene, Tay and Tiny fire departments for providing mutual aid along with Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers and Simcoe County Paramedics.
