A Christian Island resident is facing charges in a vehicle theft investigation in Midland.
The vehicle had been parked in front of a Dominion Street business when it went missing. It was reported stolen just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10.
Soon after, an Ontario Provincial Police officer on patrol spotted the stolen vehicle at Olive and Elizabeth streets.
The driver was arrested and an OPP Drug Recognition Expert officer was called in to help with the investigation.
Tyler Scott Sylvester, 31, has been charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Resist Peace Officer
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
