A pilot crash-landed a plane in a field near the Edenvale Aerodrome yesterday but escaped without injuries.
According to the Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers and other emergency crews were called to the crash on March 4. The plane went down in a farm field near Edenvale (Highway 26 and Strongville Road).
"The pilot was the only occupant in the aircraft and was able to conduct an emergency landing of the plane, escaping uninjured," states a police news release.
The aircraft did catch fire, but emergency crews on scene were able to put the fire out and keep it contained.
"At this time, it is unclear what caused the pilot to conduct an emergency landing and ground the aircraft,"
The plane has been cleared out of the field.
