Police are investigating the death of a snowmobiler in Go Home River in Georgian Bay Township.
On Feb. 11 at about 10:30 a.m., police received a report from a witness of someone in Go Home River. The person was believed to be a snowmobiler who hadn’t been seen for about 18 hours, Bracebridge OPP said in a news release.
“Due to the unpredictable weather and ice conditions, the water was deemed hazardous with flowing water and the individual was not able to be reached from the shore,” police said.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and located the body of the 46-year-old snowmobiler.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
