Tiny man faces impaired charges after vehicle hits utility pole

A Tiny resident faces impaired driving charges after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole Sunday.

Shortly before 3 a.m., a local resident travelling along Champlain Rd. noticed a Tesla embanked against the pole at the 17th concession intersection.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers were called to the scene and found the driver, who wasn’t injured.

As a result of their investigation, Varchas Srirangam, 37, faces charges of impaired operations along with over 80 and the provincial offences of failure to remain and failure to report an accident.

The accused, whose licence was suspended for 90 days, was released from custody and will appear in Midland court Dec. 19.
