NSCFDC is a non-profit organization that supports entrepreneurs and businesses through training, coaching, and funding. Their many programs and services are designed to help entrepreneurs launch or grow their businesses; enabling job creation and encouraging a thriving local economy.
The non-profit has been supporting the business community in the North Simcoe area for over 35 years now, and have invested more than $5.2 million in business loans in the past five years. They’re governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by the Government of Canada.
The organization is currently seeking a full-time (35 hours/weekly) general manager, who will work under the general direction of the Board of Directors.
Key responsibilities include managing the day-to-day administration of NSCFDC, including budget; management of staff, including hiring, training and performance reviews; developing and implementing programs and services related to business coaching and community economic development; and more.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is a leader with prior experience in supporting business and entrepreneurs, in commercial lending, in business analysis, and potentially in operating a business. A university degree in finance, business administration, or another related discipline is required, as well as an economic development certification, or willingness to obtain one.
Soft skills being sought in a successful applicant include time management and decision-making skills, personal accountability, a focus on the customer, and an ability to work well within a team.
