A new charity raffle supporting youth mental health in Simcoe County offers up two floor seats to the opening night of Taylor Swifts’ Eras Tour stop in Toronto.

Hosted by CFS Counselling + Wellness (CFS), the raffle’s proceeds will fuel its YouthCALL Service Link (YouthCALL) program.

“We’re excited to launch this fundraiser – CFS’s first digital raffle,” said CFS manager of community programs Amanda Fellows. “While the prizes involved in the raffles are fun, the money raised is important in expanding our youth mental health program across Simcoe County to ensure equitable access to care across our urban centres and rural communities.”

The CFS Raffle gives players 17 chances to win a range of Taylor Swift merch and music, with the grand prize consisting of two concert tickets, a $500 Uber gift card, and a $200 Ultimate Dining gift card.

Non-Swifties interested in supporting youth mental health may prefer to enter the 50/50 draw that is operating side-by-side the concert raffle.

“Youth around the world are being affected by anxiety, depression, and behavioural disorders at rates never seen before, and my peers in Simcoe County are no different,” said Ayla McCallum, who was hired recently to join the program leadership team as a youth voice. “Suicide is the fourth-leading cause of death among 15- to 29-year-olds globally, so addressing this issue now is critical.

"As YouthCALL’s new youth lead, I’m honoured to be involved in this fundraiser that will directly benefit local young people.”

Both contests run until Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. The draws begin thirty minutes later with winners contacted by phone and/or email using the information provided
at the time of purchase.

Winners have six months to claim their prizes. Consistent with the rules of play determined by the Alcohol and Gaming  Commission of Ontario, lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the province of Ontario at the time of purchase.

CFS is the lead agency of a six-agency collaborative that works with youth advisers to allow for a holistic approach to youth wellness. The initiative strives to deliver free, inclusive, and low-barrier programming across Simcoe County. Additional funding would increase capacity and support the expansion of the program into more rural areas in the spirit of equitable access to care.
