Huronia Transition Homes (HTH) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Haily MacDonald as its new executive director.

With a proven track record of leadership and a deep commitment to ending gender-based violence, Haily brings a wealth of experience and a strong vision for the future of the organization.

Haily is a feminist activist, who has been an integral part of HTH for over 10 years, and for close to the last three years, she has held the role of acting executive director. Throughout her tenure in the organization, Haily has successfully spearheaded initiatives that have expanded the organization’s reach and effectiveness. She played a key role in the development and funding of two new core programs, including Operation Grow, HTH’s hydroponic farming social enterprise, which has now been operational for seven years.

“Haily’s leadership embodies the core values of Huronia Transition Homes,” said Thea Jones, chair of the board of directors. “Her commitment to social equity and community engagement has been instrumental in expanding our services and fostering an end to all violence against all women. We are excited to have her at the helm as we continue to make a positive impact in our community.”

In her new role, Haily aims to build upon the strong foundation of the organization to amplify its impact across the county.

“I am honored to take on this role at Huronia Transition Homes,” said Haily MacDonald. “I have deep respect for the work of the organization, and I am excited to collaborate with the dedicated team, community partners and women in service to continue advocating for holistic supports and an end to all violence against all women.”

Haily’s appointment comes at a critical time as the organization seeks to adapt to the ongoing challenges surrounding violence against women. As HTH celebrates its 40th year, the organization is excited to have Haily’s energy and passion guiding the work. Her leadership will be essential in advancing HTH’s mission to provide safe shelter, support, and advocacy for those in need, and to end all violence against all women.
