The Town of Wasaga Beach is getting ready to host some big names for its upcoming 50th anniversary celebration over the Family Day weekend in February 2024.
The Breaking the Ice Festival, which will also include the grand opening of the town’s new NHL-size twin-pad arena and library, will feature live music by Canadian rock legends Blue Rodeo and Burton Cummings, tickets for which, note officials, are already 50 per cent sold out.
Cummings is set to take the main stage on Feb. 17, 2024, led by opening act The Carpet Frogs while Blue Rodeo will take the main stage on Feb. following opener Belle Starr.
The municipality is planning to give away four pairs of tickets before the holidays as part of its last minute holiday gift contest. To enter the contest, simply post a video to Facebook telling the town which band you want to see live in Wasaga Beach – and who you want to bring with you. Tag the town. Tag the band. Tag your friends … and then cross your fingers! The contest ends at 11:59pm EST on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
