New local OSPCA manager looks forward to helping animals find new homes

The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society would like to welcome Jessie Oliver as the new manager of the Ontario SPCA Midland & District Animal Centre.

Oliver will also oversee the Provincial Animal Transfer Hub, which is located on the same property and temporarily houses animals who arrive from other destinations through the Ontario SPCA’s animal transfer program.

Oliver has 18 years of experience in the animal industry and began her career working in veterinary clinics specializing in both large and small animals. She attended college to study animal care and animal enforcement and is also a certified dog and cat groomer. She also brings business management experience to her new role, having founded multiple successful animal-care related business in Simcoe County.  

“Having another outlet that gives me an opportunity to help animals in our community is a fantastic opportunity,” says Oliver.

“I am really enjoying working alongside the staff and volunteers here at the Midland & District Animal Centre, and I am looking forward to what the future holds for me within this organization.”

Over the past 10 years, the Midland & District Animal Centre has found loving homes for over 3,000 animals. Oliver’s goal is to help more than 380 animals get adopted this year.
