Noting the theme of this year’s Ontario Seniors’ Month, “Stay Active, Connected, and Safe,” Midland Public Library has unveiled a new seniors’ author series.
Throughout the year, the library will host three virtual author visits, connecting seniors living independently or in retirement/long-term care facilities with popular Canadian authors for readings, discussion and presentations.
The series kicks off Thursday at 2 p.m., with a virtual author visit from Susan Juby.
Known for her humour, Juby is the award-winning author of Republic of Dirt, The Woefield Poultry Collective and numerous books for young readers.
As a part of this event, Juby will be reading from her latest novel, Mindful of Murder, a cozy mystery following a smart, preternaturally calm, insightful, freshly trained butler trying to solve the murder and settle the affairs of her former employer.
The event will also include an audience Q & A moderated by MPL adult & teen services coordinator Jennifer Paquette. Interested individuals or groups can register to receive the online meeting information by emailing Paquette at [email protected].
