Josh and Antonio Faria created this gigantic snowman in Tiny Township.

A towering giant now lives large in Tiny Township.

But this giant is friendly...and also he’s made of snow.

Josh Faria and his dad Antonio Faria recently completed the behemoth bonhomme de neige that measures 20-feet high in front of their home on Deanlea Blvd.

“Me and my Dad decided to do it and started on the 23rd (January),” the younger Faria explained. “We just started out by stacking blocks.”

Part of the decision to keep building, however, came about after the Farias read a story featuring a Barrie man who had built a 17-foot salute to Frosty and Olaf.

"I was like maybe we could try to beat him so that's pretty much what it came down to," he said. "This is bigger than the one in Barrie. I made sure of that since we were doing all that work."

While their creation doesn’t have a name, Josh Faria said the reaction to their enormous salute to winter had been very positive.

“A lot of people are impressed and thank us for bringing a smile to their face during the pandemic,” he said, noting some have even brought over sweets and baked goods as a thank you for creating the snowman.

“They love it. We get a lot of people all day long. We also installed some lights so that they can come by and see it at night.”
