Barbara Estelle Brennen at 94 years of age, passed away surrounded by loved ones, on March 4, 2025 at GBGH.
Barbara was born on July 7, 1930 to the late Mae Zita Schram (nee Brodeur), Barbara lived in Midland and upon graduation of high school was accepted and completed training at St. Michael’s in Toronto, where she worked as an RN.
Barbara married the late William Brennen, who was a US Naval Officer. They had four children Alison, John, Chris and Adrianne. After 25 years in the Navy, Bill retired and they moved back home to Midland.
Barbara went to work nursing at the Villa as the DON for 25 years and finished her illustrious career managing the 'Lodge'.
Barbara volunteered with CWL at St. Margaret's Church and also created all the floral arrangements that adorned the church.
Barb is survived by Alison, John (MaryAnne), Chris (Mary), Adrianne (David Hurst), five grandchildren, Eleni (John LaPoint), Adam, Hannah (Tyler Kinsman), Katrina (Darren Cooper), Kyle (Hope) and four great grand children Arley, Zoey, Aubrey and Riley.
Arrangements are entrusted to Nicholl's Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at St. Margaret's on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 2 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huronia Transition Homes.
