It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marianne Clayton at the young age of 77 years after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Devoted wife of Bruce Clayton of 55yrs and loving mother to Michelle (Michael Henshaw), and Sandra (Michael Hickman). Cherished grandmother to Tyler, Hailey, Jocelyn and Shannon. Cherished sister to Sandy Stringer, Jay Alexander (Lucy), Neil Alexander (Carole) and treasured by many nieces, nephews and friends. Marianne will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure to know her.
A wonderful lady who never stopped learning or lending a helping hand. Marianne honed her skills at OSSTF for 36 years in Communications and Public Relations. She continued to use those skills to support Women’s Hockey through the MGHL and the OWHA’s hosting of the World Championships. As a retiree she played a vital role on the boards of the Georgian Shores Seniors Club and the Clearwater Beach Association; and chairperson of the speakers’ committee for Midland Huronia Probus Club.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Georgian Shores Seniors Club, April 12th, 2025.
