It is with love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” LaChapelle, who left us peacefully on November 21 2024 at the age of 82. Beloved husband to Linda (nee Yuill) for almost 60 years. Devoted father to Lori (Dan) LaChapelle, David (Lori) LaChapelle and Karen (Graham) LaChapelle-Charlebois. Cherished grandfather to Billy, Erin, Katelin, Abigail, Grace, Josh and Kristen. Great-grandchildren, Alyvia, Wyatt, Wayne, Henley, Grayson and Archer.
Bob will be dearly missed by his siblings Gerard (predeceased), Jack, Lorinne (predeceased), Pat, Peter (Eddy), Martha, Jim, Joanne and Albert. He is predeceased by his parents Fabian and Marie LaChapelle of Victoria Harbour.
Bob spent his adult life working as a truck driver for Yuill Cartage in Etobicoke, but his heart and soul belonged in Victoria Harbour. He lived life to the fullest and loved his time spent on Georgian Bay. He loved spending time boating, fishing and snowmobiling. He enjoyed his antique cars, dancing and singing to country music.
Bob will always be remembered for his contagious laughter, silly sense of humour and the endless joke telling. His love and devotion for his family will live in our hearts forever.
A celebration of Robert’s life will take place on Saturday, November 30th at 11am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery following the service.
Refreshments and story sharing at the Royal Canadian Legion in Victoria Habour from 1-4pm.
