It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful Mother Maria Conrad on Friday, October 25th, 2024 at Georgian Bay General hospital at the age of 79.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Petra (Ivan) and Michael (Rosanne) also by her grandchildren Samantha, Alex (Amy), Kim (Tim), Jessica and Sophia and great grandson Emmet.
At the age of 22, Maria and her late husband Fred set sail from Germany and landed in Montreal to start a new life, learn a new language and start a family of their own. They were married 51 years and had 2 children.
Maria was a stay-at-home Mom and made it a fulltime job she was always cooking up a storm, prided herself in a clean and stylish home. She loved doing crafts of all sorts and of course shopping, Maria was a fashion Diva.
Later when the kids were grown Maria and Fred opened a company, Kanbe MFG where she did the bookkeeping and secretarial work. When she retired Maria became a professional shopper.
Family was important to our Mom and she cherished every moment here with us. We will miss her funny stories, fashion sense but most of all her smiles and hugs which were always plentiful.
Funeral service to be held on Saturday, November 9th at 10 am at Nicholls Funeral Home- NO VISITATION PRIOR
Followed by a private burial at 10:30am
Luncheon and visitation will be held at Heritage house next to Nicholls where you can meet with family 11am to 1pm.
If desired donations in memory of Maria may be made to the Midland OSPCA
