Leonard Gilbert Desrochers was born on April 25, 1930 in Phelpston, Ontario to Jean Louis and Claudia Desrochers. He passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at Georgian Manor in Penetanguishene, Ontario on July 10, 2024.

Len is pre-deceased by his loving wife Cecile (nee Quesnelle), his sister Fleurette Dupuis and granddaughter Pamela Desrochers. He is survived by his sister Gert Patenaude and his 3 children: David (Lorraine), Kevin (Colleen), Denise LeBlanc (Steve Snow), 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Len was raised in a very humble household. As a boy, he grew up to embrace those same values and qualities that he became so well known for. It didn’t matter who you were, he always treated everyone with respect and as a friend. His honest disposition and his please and thank you attitude were his trademark to becoming so well liked throughout his life.

He wore several different hats during his working career, gracing him with many endearing friendships along the way.

Len was a loving and dedicated husband to his wife Cecile. Their passion for travelling in their motorhome during their retirement was said to be their best time together. They also enjoyed many years of boating, biking, fishing and woodworking.

They had 63 wonderful years of marriage and when mom passed a part of him never recovered from losing the love of his life. The thought of our dad being reunited with his bride again gives us kids a sense of peace knowing that he is now truly happy.

Being able to call Len our “dad” is something that the three of us can say with unwavering pride. He was a kind man who loved his family unconditionally and we are truly grateful and fortunate to have had this man as our father. We will miss his humour, wisdom and his hard working ethics but most of all his love.

Rest in peace Dad.
