Our father Joseph (Joe) Faragher passed away peacefully at the Hospice Huronia - Tomkins House on November 25, 2024.
Joe will be remembered as a man who loved his family and community. His quick wit and compassion enlightened those he encountered on a daily basis. Dad was still recognized daily by many for his dedication and service at Jory’s Drug Store in the pharmacy department as well as his outstanding career as first basemen and pitcher on the fabled Midland Indians Baseball team that won multiple provincial championships. A proud Rotarian for 45 years, he lived by the motto “Service Above Self”.
Dad now joins our mom Anne in time for her birthday in Heaven. It will be a celebration he has longed for daily since her passing. He will find himself in the company of his many friends that served as mentors for us all over the years and set standards to follow while enjoying life to the fullest. Remembered by all he met, especially his children Joanne, Jim (Zelinda), and John (Maureen). Grandchildren, Whitney (Andre), Jocelyn (Dave), Christian (Mackenzie), Paige (Alex), Brooke (Travis), Jaida (Derek), Emma-Rose, Zelia, and Sophia (Travis). Great grandchildren, Jory, Emile, and Kaden. To be missed dearly by his sister Lenore and her husband Ivan Price. An uncle to Steven (Darlene) and Robert Shiels as well as Bryan (Ashley), Brent (Jen), and Brad (Kelly) Price. Thanks dad for such a blessed life, enjoy your time above with a nice martini, a bottle of ketchup, and some Louis Prima.
Special thanks goes out to the staff at GBGH, Hospice Huronia-Tomkins House, and Rev. Karen Ptolemy-Stam who held a special place in dad’s heart.
A funeral service will be held on December 2, 2024 at St. Paul’s Church in Midland. Visitation at 10:00am, Service at 11:00am and a luncheon to follow downstairs at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations in dad’s memory to Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre would be appreciated as requested by Joe.
