Colleen Elizabeth Geffros passed away unexpectedly on the morning of June 17, 2024 at the age of 34. Colleen was born on May 30, 1990 in Penetang, Ontario to Doug and Mary Geffros. She lived in Midland before moving to London in 1999. She spent the last three years living at Participation House where she was able to meet new friends and flourish.

She loved crafts and painting and could spend hours doing so. She loved going for walks, especially by the river to see the ducks and Canada geese. She cheered for the London Knights and Toronto Maple Leafs, and enjoyed going to Knights games. As a reader, she loved reading comics such as her Beano Annuals, Rupert Annuals, and Calvin and Hobbes, as well as reading picture dictionaries in other languages.

She loved to laugh, brightening everyone’s day, though she wouldn’t let us in on the joke most of the time. She especially loved laughing at the little misfortunes, like an accidental spilled smoothie, a broken gravy boat, hearing a particularly loud burp, or when her sister’s video game character died horrifically.

Colleen could put together 500- and 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles in no time. She could also count to ten and describe colours in German, Dutch, French, and Spanish. She loved to begin her day with a cup of Candy Cane Crush tea

Those who knew her described her life as a tapestry of joy, laughter, and boundless creativity, touching the hearts of everyone she met. She was curious and observant, and rowdy and fierce. She was very clever, especially when driving anywhere. No GPS needed!

Colleen is predeceased by her grandparents John and Thelma Hodges and Glenn and Madeline Geffros, and her stepbrother Cory Dagenais. She is survived by her mother Mary and father Doug, her stepmother Brenda, her sister Jennifer and brother-in-law Bob, her brother Jonathan, her stepsister Melissa, stepbrother Kirk, and her cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend Colleen’s visitation on Monday June 24th from 12pm – 1pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1997 Dundas St. E., London, Ontario. A funeral service to follow at 1pm in the chapel. To honour Colleen’s memory please dress in bright colours.
