We are deeply saddened to announce that Mom in her 96th year, started her next journey in the early morning hours of January 10, 2025.
She made it to Friday, after a period of declining health, passing peacefully in her sleep while resting in her bed in the Cardinal wing of the Villa Long Term Care (LTC) Jarlette Health Services, Midland.
We owe a ton of gratitude to the Villa staff for the level of care that was above reproach provided to Mom during her stay.
It was capped off as Father John led Mom's honorary procession through the Villa LTC with the entire staff showing their respects along the way as she left the facility into the care of LeClair Cremation Centre.
Joan leaves behind her beloved husband Robert “Bob” Hobson of 74 years, her loving children Gail Johnson (Dave) and David Hobson (Monica) and her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and square-dancing friends.
Mom is now free to plant her garden, pick strawberries on the farm & pick blueberries at the cottage and do a few square dances with Dad as she often expressed a desire to do so over the last six months.
A celebration of her long life and interment will occur in the spring.
Anyone wishing to make a charitable donation in Mom's memory could consider the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation - GBGHF
