Passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Village on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in his 89th year.
Beloved husband of the late Diana Howell. Loving father of Garry, Kimberly (Norm) and Darlene (Richard). Cherished grandfather of Jeremy, Scott, Lorne, Sheena, Ryan, Cassandra, Danielle, Melissa and Grant and great-grandfather of Hayden, Caleb, Logan, Myles and Cooper. Will be missed by his sisters Janette (Chuck) Goodley, Betty (late Jack) Burton and sister-in-law Wanda Howell. Predeceased by his brothers Harry, Dave, Andy and Bill. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Nicholls Funeral Home, Midland, on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00-1:30 with time of remembrance at 1:30, followed by a reception from 2:00-4:00. Interment will be held in the spring. In memory of John, please wear your Maple Leaf’s or Blue Jays jersey or shirt. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
