May 5, 1956 – December 6, 2022
It is with heavy hearts, we share the passing of Marnie Wismer on December 6, 2022 at the age of 66. She passed away peacefully with family by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Hazel MacTavish (nee Dewar). She leaves behind her loving husband, Jim Wismer, her stepson Sean (Kelly) and their son Evan, her brothers, Haig, William (Debbie), sister Joan Purcell (Kenneth). She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Ken Wismer (Shirley), her sister-in-law, Kim Morrison (Dan) and many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
Marnie always lived life to the fullest. She was the family comedian from a very young age. Throughout her life, she faced every challenge with strength, courage and a sense of humor and her five-year battle with cancer was no exception Her laughter was infectious and always filled the air when she would get together with family and friends. She was stylish and her home was also decorated with flair for every season. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel. In the past few years, she would be seen in Midland and surrounding area with her hair blowing in the breeze as she toured around in her little MG convertible “Ruby”.
Our shining light has gone and she will be deeply missed. Soar now with the angels Marnie until we meet again.
We extend our deep appreciation to all family and friends for their support throughout her illness. A special thank you to Hospice Huronia (Tomkins House) for the excellent care and compassion given to Marnie in her final days. At Marnie’s request, a graveside service will be held in the spring of 2023 at Shaw cemetery in Harrington, Quebec.
