17-year-old charged after break and enter at Tiny Township home

A teenager has been charged after a break and enter occurred in Tiny Township on Monday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police were called to a residence on Melissa Lane at around 6:33 a.m.

After arriving at the scene, officers learned that the suspect fled on foot. They were then identified and located after a search by the canine unit, emergency response unit, and Anishinabek police.

The stolen property was recovered, police said.

A 17-year-old male has been charged with break, enter a place - commit indictable offence and mischief under $5,000.

The teenager has been released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date. Their identity is protected under the Young Offenders Act.
