Local resident charged after charitable items stolen from eatery

The accused is facing multiple charges as a result of the police investigation

A Port Carling resident has been charged after a police investigation into stolen charitable items.

At 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, officers with the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police responded to a complaint from a local quick service restaurant that a man had taken items from a silent auction they were hosting to raise money for charity.

After an investigation, Clayton Eisan, 34, was arrested and has been charged with:

  • theft under $5,000 CC 334(b)
  • possession of property obtained by crime CC 354(1)(a) and
  • breach of recognizance CC 811.

He will appear in court in Bracebridge on Sept. 17, 2024 to answer to his charges.
