A Midland resident is facing multiple charges after a motel room was damaged in Blind River.
Ontario Provincial Police were called to the Causley Street business at around 2 a.m. Monday after being told a customer was damaging items in a room.
Officers say the suspect resisted arrest.
“While in custody, the accused was later served a breakfast sandwich. When an officer entered the cell area to speak with the accused, the sandwich was thrown at the officer,” OPP alleged in a news release.
Stephen Lawrence, 42, from Midland was charged with:
- Mischief-destroys or damages property
- Assault peace officer
- Resist peace officer
- Causing a disturbance
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
