An Orillia man accused of child luring and sexual assault is facing an additional charge after police say another victim came forward.
On Monday, police arrested Manuel Javier Marroquinn-Ramirez, 43. The former aquatics supervisor with the City of Orillia was charged after police “received information regarding a historical sexual assault and child luring incident” that occurred in 2021, Orillia OPP stated in a news release.
The accused was working at the Orillia Recreation Centre when it was alleged he offered alcohol to a youth in exchange for explicit images.
On Wednesday, another victim came forward to police, and Marroquinn-Ramirez has now been charged with forcible confinement.
The initial charges laid against him are as follows:
- Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication (three counts)
- Communicating with anyone for the purpose of obtaining sexual services
- Sexual exploitation
- Sexual assault
- Possession of child pornography
- Selling or distributing to an individual under 19 years of age
- Knowingly supplying liquor to person under 19 years of age
