Police arrest 49-year-old downtown, seize drugs and cash

A person wanted by police was arrested in downtown Midland while a Southern Georgian Bay OPP officer was on patrol Friday.

At around 10:39 a.m., the officer noticed a King Street cab had a passenger known to be wanted and pulled over the vehicle.

The individual was arrested and a further investigation found drugs in their possession, including a significant amount of suspected blue fentanyl, gold fentanyl and oxycodone.

Canadian cash and drug equipment were also seized.

Police have charged Timothy Nessman, 49 years old, from Elmvale with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance - opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance- other drugs
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid (other than heroin) (two counts)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Nessman has been released from custody and is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
