Tay man faces charges related to stolen credit card spending spree

A Tay man faces several charges in connection with entering an unlocked car in Midland.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP received a report of someone using credit cards that had been taken from a vehicle parked on Aberdeen Blvd. sometime overnight Friday.

The victim reported being notified by financial institutions of unauthorized transactions in excess of $500 and through investigation, the officer was able to identify a suspect and made an arrest Sunday morning.

As a result, Martin Moore, 34, faces charges of illegally using a credit card (two counts), fraud under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (three counts) and breach of recognizance.

Moore was released from custody and will appear in Midland court Feb. 6.
